Kodachrome Basin State Park is located about a half hour east of Bryce Canyon National Park on highway 12. It is a unique amphitheater with many chimney like spires decorating the landscape. The spires are believed to be formed by springs and geysers that filled up with sediment and solidfied. Over the years as erosion wore away the softer sandstone it left these spectacular towers.
